Designer, story lover & amateur sourdough baker

Meet Ida Fia,

For over a decade, I've had the privilege of helping aspiring authors around the world bring their stories to life.

Most days, you'll find me tucked away in my little home office in the Swedish countryside, designing with a fresh cup of coffee nearby and cows grazing just outside my window.

When I'm not deep in a design project, I'm usually chasing golden hour with my camera, attempting to perfect my sourdough, painting, dreaming up future stories, or exploring new places with my little camper van, Pingu.

From first-time authors to bestselling entrepreneurs, I've helped transform manuscripts into books people are proud to publish, share, and hold in their hands.

As my clients' businesses grew, so did the work we created together. Many needed more than a beautiful book. They needed a brand and website that reflected the same level of thought and care.

Today, I design books, brands, and websites with one goal in mind: creating thoughtful, strategic design that feels unmistakably like you.

THE HEART BEHIND MY WORK

I’m here for the stories. The dreams, and the people behind them.

I’m here for the stories.
The dreams, and the people behind them.

Every project begins with something far more important than design.

A story someone has carried for years, a business they've poured themselves into, or an idea they're finally ready to share with the world.

Design isn't just about making something look beautiful. It's about creating something that feels unmistakably like you, builds trust with the right people, and gives you the confidence to put your work out into the world.

My beliefs

01

Good design should feel timeless, not trendy.

02

Good design speaks before you do.

03

Less clutter. More intention.

04

Your work deserves to be taken seriously.

05

People remember how you made them feel.

06

Every detail should have a purpose.

People often ask how I became a book designer. It all started with an Instagram hashtag.

How I accidentally became a book designer

The months that followed were a whirlwind of learning, creativity, and collaboration. I had no idea how much went into designing a book, but I loved every second of it.

The book launched on March 4, 2014, with all proceeds supporting One World Health, a nonprofit providing healthcare in developing countries. Being part of a project with such a meaningful purpose made the experience even more special.

Since then, I've had the privilege of helping hundreds of authors bring their stories to life, working with clients around the world and forming friendships I never expected along the way. Looking back, it's hard to believe it all started with a single Instagram hashtag.

The takeaway? Never underestimate the power of a hashtag, or the magic that can happen when you say yes to something new.

Back in 2013, I stumbled across the band NEEDTOBREATHE on Instagram. Inspired by their music, I turned one of their lyrics into a typographic design and shared it using the hashtag #needtobreathe.

A couple of months later, Seth, the band's bass player, reached out. He and his brother had written a charity book, were looking for someone to design it, and wondered if I'd be interested.

Of course I said yes. There was just one tiny problem: I had absolutely no idea how to design a book.

But I channeled the spirit of my childhood hero, Pippi Longstocking, who once said, "I've never tried that before, so I think I should definitely be able to do that."
