Welcome to my little corner on the internet.
I'm Ida Fia, but you can call me Ida! I'm a self-taught photographer and graphic designer based in the very south part of Sweden.
A proud high school drop out, introvert (I'd say it's a super power really), dreamer, sunset chaser, and puppy lover who love to create.
I get asked this question a lot and it's a funny story actually!
Back in 2013, I discovered the band NEEDTOBREATHE by coincidence on Instagram, fell in love with their music and made a typography with one of their lyrics and posted on Instagram with the hashtag #needtobreath.
Months later, I received a message from the bass player Seth in the band asking me if I'd be interested in helping him and his brother to design a book they had written for charity. I had no experience with book design what so ever, but Pippi Longstocking was my biggest inspiration when I was little (click here for proof) and she once said "I’ve never tried that before, so I think I should definitely be able to do that."
So I said "Let's do it!".
We worked back and forth for months. Who knew it could take that long to design a book! But, it was worth all the hard work. The book turned out to be a master piece and was launched on march 4th 2014 by Seth and Chandler Bolt. All profit went to One World Health, an organization who provides health care in developing countries. Amazing.
A year later, Chandler started Self-Publishing School and brought me on part time as their in-house designer. I've since then helped bring hundreds of author's books to life and I absolutely love what I do!
Conclusion? Don't underestimate the power of hashtags!
